Mona Mae Myers, 76, of Charleston died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, in Fort Smith. She was born Dec. 24, 1937, in LeMars, Iowa. She was Baptist and a retired employee of Planters Peanuts.
Funeral was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Lavaca with burial at Hickory Ridge Cemetery in Lavaca.
She is survived by two daughters, Anna McDonald of Kansas City, Mo., and Candis Priester of Woodland, Kan.; five sons, Billy Samson of Lockesburg, David Samson of Woodward, Okla., Franklin Samson of Nebraska, Gary Meyers of Lavaca and Heath Meyers of Greenwood; three sisters, Sandra Poor of Charleston, Madge Neissl of Walla Walla, Wash., and Jean Weaver of Lavaca; a brother, Tommy Edwards of Branch; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Danny Birch, Steve Furr, David Rietman, Dustin Nina, Chad Pinick and Michael Glover.
