Ella Ruth Dixon

Ella Ruth Dixon, who resided in Osage, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 in Cleveland, Oklahoma. She was born August 18, 1939 in the Grand Prairie Community, north of Charleston, Arkansas in Franklin County to the late John Walter Jones and Mary Agnes (Collins) Jones. She was 74 years old. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John Allen Jones and Homer Lee Jones; one sister, Sarah.

Ella Ruth was a retired USDA inspector and was of the Baptist faith.

Graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 27th, 2014 at Nixon Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Zehms of Las Vegas, Nevada, Brenda Henry and Jane Beevers, both of Fort Smith; three sons, Harold Pratt of Osage, Oklahoma, Hobart W. Chronister of Fort Smith and William S. Chronister and wife Karen of Arkoma, Oklahoma; one sister, Alta Slead of Osage, Oklahoma; four brothers, George Jones of Stockton, California, James Jones of Lavaca, Billy Ralph Jones of Cleveland, Oklahoma, and Loyal Jones of Lavaca; eight grandchildren, Stacy Harrison, Shannon Beevers and wife Mallory, Adrian Goodwin, Jonathan Zehms, Joseph Zehms, Gabriel Lewis, Kizzie Lewis, and Zachery Henry; seven great-grandchildren; her best friend, Peggy Hunter of Charleston.

Honorary pallbearers were her brothers.
