Superintendents To Speak At Retired Teachers Meeting

If you are retired from working in a school district, whether you were staff, faculty, or administration, you can be a part of the Franklin County Retired Teachers Association. Plan to join us at our first meeting of the year on September 8, 2014.

We will meet at 12:00 noon at the Western Arkansas Educational Cooperative, located in Branch. Come to Suite J, where we will start with pizza for lunch. Bring $5 to cover the cost.

Following the pizza we will have our program, called “Symposium of Superintendents.” We are honored to have three Franklin County superintendents to join us for a panel discussion on the latest in the world of education, followed by time for discussion and questions. Manning our panel will be Jeff Stubblefield from Charleston, Jim Ford from Ozark, and Taylor Gattis from County Line.

We will end our meeting with a business session, which includes the presentation of this year’s yearbooks, planning for the state meeting in late September, and a welcome to any newly retired school employees or others who are joining us for the first time. Returning members are asked to bring their yearbooks from last year because we will be reusing them for the new yearbook. Those who wish to carpool should meet at the Charleston Methodist Church parking lot at 11:30 for ride sharing.

The Franklin County Retired Teachers hope to see many new faces at our meeting, along with greeting familiar faces once again.
