Shelly L. Wilson, Treasurer of Franklin County, announces her candidacy for re-election.
Wilson and her husband Larry, have one daughter, Heather Grace, and make their home in the Etna Community. She is the daughter of Robert and Jane Ferguson and the granddaughter of the late Shell and Ressie Blanscet, the late Luna Ferguson and the late Henry Ferguson. She has two sisters, Tonya Komp of Ozark and Laura Ricketts of Charleston.
A 1986 graduate of Ozark high School, she is a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Charleston Chamber of Commerce, Altus Chamber of Commerce, Ozark Chamber of Commerce, the Arkansas County Treasurer’s Association, Apprentice Information System Treasurer’s Automation Committee, and the Apprentice Information System New Software Beta Testing Committee.
Wilson is now serving her fifth term as county treasurer after 16 years as deputy treasurer prior to taking office. She received her certification from the Southern Arkansas University Tech for the Arkansas County Treasurer’s Continuing Education in May 1989 and has completed her 20th update.
