Man Escapes From Franklin County Jail

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is searching for an inmate who walked away from the detention center on Sunday.

Toby Clay Tygart, 52, of Subiaco in Logan County had been in custody since early April on drug charges and was a sheriff’s trusty at the detention center for at least two months. Tygart was last seen about 2:30 Sunday. He was a trusty for kitchen and painting work.

Franklin County Sheriff Anthony Boen said that while he does not consider Tygart armed and dangerous the public should use caution and contact police if Tygart is seen.

Tygart is 6-foot-1 with dark blond hair and blue eyes. His drug charges were methamphetamine-related, Boen said. At his booking he was 142 pounds. Tygart has family in Logan County but is also known to have friends in northwest Arkansas, Boen added.
