Guns ‘N Hoses Community Blood Drive Set – July 1

Charleston fire department and law enforcement staffs are asking all area residents to come to the Guns ‘N Hoses blood drive with Arkansas Blood Institute (ABI), 11:30 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., Monday, July 1, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 24 N. Prairie St. To fuel a little healthy competition, donors will choose which department to support by donating on behalf of law enforcement or the fire department.

Donors will experience the satisfaction of saving as many as three peoples’ lives! Each will receive a voucher, redeemable for two tickets to the Tulsa Zoo and this year’s Guns ‘N Hoses T-shirt.

Anyone who is healthy and 16 years of age can donate*, and donations can be made every 56 days.

Arkansas Blood Institute is affiliated with Oklahoma Blood Institute, the ninth largest, non-profit blood center in America. Appointments are not necessary, but can be made by calling Betty Ewing at 965-2632 or visiting www.arkbi.org.

* 16 year olds must weigh at least 125 and provide signed parental permission, 17 year olds must weigh at least 125 pounds, 18+ year olds must weigh at least 110 pounds.
