Charleston Library News

Come into the Charleston Public Library in honor of the American Library Association’s National Library Card Sign-Up Month and find out what your FREE library card can do for you! We have movies, video games and, of course, lots of new books. Your library card is also your pass to FREE Wifi, e-books, and today’s most popular music. Also, use our databases to look for a new job, repair a car, or even complete your family tree with our online genealogy sites.

To sign up for your FREE library card, you must bring a photo ID and two proofs of your current mailing address to our location at 12 South School Street in Charleston. If you’re under the age of 18, a parent or a guardian must come to the library and sign you up.

Plus if you haven’t been to the library in a while and have fines, September is the perfect time to stop by and see us. You’ll have a chance to give to a worthy cause, plus erase any fines you may owe during our “Food for Fines.” The food drive will last the entire month of September. Simply bring in a canned good or non-perishable item and we’ll delete any past due fines on your account. Donated items will go to the Charleston Ministerial Alliance.
