Charleston Athletic Booster Club Annual Black and White Game a Huge Success

This year’s Black and White game brought heat, humidity and amazing fans out to Alumni Field to celebrate the kickoff of another great Tiger Football season!! From the pee wee performances to the senior high performances the stands were filled with supportive fans getting a sneak preview of the season to come. The possibility of weather moving in raised concerns on whether Gary Schmitz would be able to make his parachute landing onto the to pick up the winning number for the 50/50 drawing. But the weather held and once again the event ended with a happy fan receiving their half of the money collected from ticket sales. Brian King was the lucky winner this year. The Charleston Athletic Booster Club would like to thank the community for helping raise over $6400 this year. The event couldn’t happen without all the volunteers who worked the gate, the tables and the concession stand. An extra thank you goes out to the grill crew who braved the heat and humidity to cook the hamburgers and hot dogs: Gene Cross, Jason Haney, Christy Farmer, Jeff Karnes, Jason Newhart, and Rusty McDonald. Make plans to attend the first home game on Tuesday September 2nd when the junior high hosts Trinity.
